AIMM executive coordinator dies unexpectedly

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of our colleague and friend,
John Fumana. John has faithfully served as the Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission (AIMM) executive coordinator since 2020. He passed away on May 15, 2026, as he and his wife Lucie were landing in Montreal, Canada. This was to be the beginning of a month-long trip visiting Canadian churches and supporters to talk about AIMM’s ministries in Africa.
No doubt this is coming as a shock to many of you, as it is to us. We ask you to prayerfully remember John’s family, friends, the AIMM community, as well as all those whose lives have been touched by John’s presence and work.
The EMC office also serves as the AIMM headquarters in Canada.
