Delegates vote to approve ‘visionary’ budget
On November 22, 2025, EMC delegates, staff and guests gathered at the Kleefeld EMC for the fall Conference Council meeting. A big thank you to pastor Greg Klassen and his team for hosting the meetings this year. There was a lot of fellowshipping around good food and the atmosphere was welcoming.
An update on current discussions in the EMC - Ministerial and Conference Council
Cameron McKenzie opened the meeting with the thought that anything we repeat over and over again—like the Easter message—risks losing impact. But, he said, resurrection isn’t a single event—it is the heartbeat of the gospel, and whatever we find ourselves doing, we’re cultivators of resurrection communities.
Council approves first over-$2M budget in 10 years
♪ On November 23, 2024, Conference Council members approved a budget of nearly $2.1M for 2025—the first budget over $2M since 2015. Delegates gathered at Evangelical Fellowship Church (EFC) in Steinbach, Man., and virtually over Zoom.

♪ Each Conference Council is an opportunity for delegates to speak—on behalf of their churches about the items on the agenda, and especially after lunch during roundtable discussions. This year the discussion focus was on connecting.

♪ Delegates gathered on June 29, 2024, in person at La Crete (Alta.) Christian Fellowship Church (LCCFC) and virtually over Zoom to hear of proposed changes to EMC gatherings and affiliations.

Council approves church closure, amends Constitution
On June 3, 2023, Conference Council delegates gathered at Rosenort (Man.) EMC and online on Zoom to manage the business of the EMC. This included approving the closure of Good News Community Church in Steinbach, Man. and approving amendments to the EMC Constitution.
Council approves release of Aberdeen, 2023 budget of 1.8M
On November 26, 2022, EMC Conference Council delegates met to discuss changes to the Ministerial section of The Constitution, and to approve the release of Aberdeen EMC and the EMC budget for 2023.
