Readers respond to the Sept/Oct 2025 issue, and to the ‘appeal’ series in The Messenger.

Morgan Fehr’s article “Ancient, continuous, and meangingful” describes a faith experience formed by wrestling the angel, as in Genesis 32. We benefit from thoughtful, focused clarity in exploring the complex ways the church draws us in and pushes us away, sometimes at the same time, and this is really wonderful writing.

Hope and grace abound in this edition. Thank you for reporting on the MCC litigation resolution, indicating that their policies exceed legal standards, that people in charge remain people who need grace as well, and that they are aiming to improve.
